What the X-Cross Green Line does
The X-Cross cools and dehumidifies in a single unit, and recovers heat where you can use it. We design the airflow along the racks for each farm.
- All-in-one unit. Heating, cooling and dehumidification in one unit; no separate installations.
- Climate within the band. Active dehumidification with heat recovery. How often your climate leaves the band, we calculate for your space.
- Decentralised. Each unit works on its own. If one fails, the others keep running.
What you get from us
A calculation using your own figures: your space, your use and your energy prices. The report shows the latent and the sensible load separately, with the standards and the assumptions, so that you and your adviser can check every step. Anything we do not know, we call an assumption.

Questions we are often asked
Why does a vertical farm need dehumidification?
The plants transpire water, and in a closed growing room you cannot get rid of that moisture by opening a window. At the same time the LED lights give off heat. The installation therefore has to cool and dehumidify at the same time. The X-Cross does both in one unit.
Will I get the same humidity on every layer?
That depends on how the air is distributed between the layers. The unit controls humidity and temperature. We design the airflow along the racks for each farm.
Can I do maintenance without standing between the racks?
Yes, if the unit stands in a plant room or corridor, separate from the growing area. Whether that works, we check on your floor plan.
How much space does the installation need?
One unit instead of separate dehumidifiers, coolers and air handling. You receive the dimensions and connections with the calculation.
What do I do with the heat from the LED lights?
That heat has to go either way. The X-Cross cools and dehumidifies in one unit, and recovers heat where you can use it. What that means for your farm, we calculate.
Can I show the latent and the sensible load separately?
Yes. The report shows both loads separately, with standards and assumptions, so that you can use them in your specification.
